If you signed up for the subscription-based version of this Eaglemoss 1:8 scale Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing partwork build-up, you will receive four FREE gifts along the way. The first gift is this Toolkit containing various basic tools, such as:
- Screwdriver
- Craft Knife
- Needle File
- Pliers
- Tweezers
I already have an extensive tool set, so I will not be using these. Still, it is a nice starter set for some builders. I also found it interesting that this is not the Mercedes-branded Toolkit described on the Eaglemoss website, but a generic one I also received with my Nissan GT-R build.
I’m just starting the 300 SL build. It’s my first large scale, subscription kit like this. I’m interested in a set of good tools, but I’m looking for a set specific for this. I have other tool sets. I just want a small set I can easily pull out to use for this build.
What tools are really necessary? I wouldn’t think cutting or filing come into play. Is a good magnetic screwdriver and a tweezers sufficient? I’d appreciate any suggestions.
I recommend the general tool kit mentioned on my GETTING STARTED page. I have also found that the iFixit Manta Set is also really good for just the drivers.
