Build

The Right Sill Rocker Panel and Trim

Step 01

Retrieve your 300 SL and carefully turn it upside down on a soft cloth. Fit the Right Sill Rocker Panel to the right side between the wheels, inside the Main Body Shell, and align the screw holes as shown:

Secure the Right  Sill Rocker Panel into place with four (4) BM screws, as shown.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 02

Push the pins of the Right Sill Trim into the matching holes between the Right Sill Rocker Panel and the Main Body Shell, as shown.

This Right Sill Trim should only fit one way and needs to be gently, but firmly pressed into place. When it is correctly installed, the ends match up to the curvature of the wheel openings and the gaps on the back of the Right Sill Trim line up to the BM screws we just installed:

That ends this phase of the build and marks the completion of our 300 SL body assembly!

Thoughts

With these sill panels in place, the Body work is done and it looks fantastic! The remainder of the build will focus on the underside of the car.
