The Luggage Compartment Carpet
Step 01
Retrieve your Interior assembly from the previous phase. As we have done with the earlier carpets, peel the backing from the Luggage Compartment Carpet:
Fit the rear edges of the carpet over the luggage area of the Interior assembly and lay it into place forward until it wraps around the drive shaft tunnel.
I chose to start applying this from front to back so I could ensure it aligned to the drive shaft tunnel correctly:
Then, I carefully laid it down into place towards the rear:
Make sure this carpet does not cover the center pinhole or these four sockets around the rear curve.
In my case, I had to use my hobby knife to remove a little carpet where it overlapped a couple of the sockets, but it was no trouble:
If you think the color of the front and rear carpets looks different here, you are not crazy. They are not the same shade of red. The rear carpet is definitely darker:
Thoughts
Well, I was right; there was more carpet to install! However, how Eaglemoss ended up with two shades of carpet is beyond me.
