Build

The Rear Suspension

Step 01

Slide one of the Shock Absorber Pistons into one of the Shock Absorber Cylinders:

Fit the circular mount on the end of the Shock Absorber Cylinder over this post on the main chassis, and secure with one (1) LM screw.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Fit the circular mount on the end of the Shock Absorber Piston over this post on the left rear half shaft, and secure with one (1) LM screw:

Step 02

Repeat the previous step for the right side shock absorber.

These shock absorbers should match on both sides:

Step 03

Align the square end of Brake Line 3 under the square end of Brake Line 2 (from the previous phase) as shown. Make sure Brake Line 3 runs forwards and bends towards the top of the car. Secure these lines together with one (1) AP screw.

These lines are not flexible, so take care not to bend them. The free end of Brake Line 3 will be connected later, so I temporarily tucked it into the transmission connector to make sure I had it aiming in the correct direction. Since these are not mounted to anything yet, they move around a lot when you are trying to secure them together. Just take your time and it will go fine:

Thoughts

That should just about wrap up the rear suspension. In the next phase, we will add the final wheel!
