Build

The Rear Axle

Steps 01-02

Fit a Rear Coil Spring into the circular recess of the Left and Right Rear Half Shafts. You may need to rotate the spring to sit flush.

The small post along the shaft will face towards the rear of the car. This photo has the Left Rear Half Shaft on the left and the Right Rear Half Shaft on the right:

Step 03

Take the Left Rear Half Shaft assembly and slide the top of the Rear Coil Spring into the matching spring retainer at the left rear of the chassis. At the same time pass the entire half shaft assembly in between the tubular frame bars, as shown:

Next, slide one of the Spring Damper rods up through the spring from underneath, seating the square collar flush:

Finally, align the top of the Spring Damper with the hole on the top of the chassis and secure with one (1) CM screw.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

This is what you should have so far:

Step 04

Repeat the previous step with the Right Rear Half Shaft assembly:

Thoughts

See, I told you the rear suspension was much simpler! We will be able to build and install the rear wheels when the next issue arrives.
